Maple Wood Nature Center
and LaGrange County Nature Preserve

Northern hardwood forest, wooded swamp, and wet prairie. Enjoy walking trails among wildflowers, birds, and nearly 40 species of trees.
Come out to The LaGrange County Nature Preserve at Maple Wood and listen as Nature Leslie takes you on a self-guided wildflower walk. There are brochures on the nature center porch and the trail is marked. The trail is just over a mile long and should take around 40 minutes. Even though the gates are kept closed, you may park out by the road and walk the trails. Please do not pick flowers or harvest roots. For an audio version of the walk, go to our YouTube channel at the link below. |
